Default questions`

Hey everbody!

new at the forums. played gw for about 5 months when it first came out. got back into it 3 days ago.

feel like a nub cause there is mad lingo for everything that goes with the characters. but anyway.
got a couple questions, if someone could help me out.

1. All i have is gw, original. what should i get now? im about level 8. gonna go up to twenty. of course. but is there any other expansion i should invest money in?

2. I don't really understand PVP. I created a guy on there, and had to do a tutorial that i didn't have time for.
Im guessing its just going through the tutorial, then fighting people all the time? is there another world in PVP? or a different type of questing?

3. was wondering if i could change my secondary class. Just not feeling it.

4. Does a guild just invite me? do i have to do anything special? (in regular GW)

thats its for now. thanks for the help.

You double posted, but it's a site issue, so don't worry and NOBODY FLAME HIM!

Anyways...

1) Factions is not an expansion per se,as it can be played on its own, but it can also be added you your existing GW account too. The same with the forthcoming Nightfall. My advice: Focus on finsihing Prophecies (The game you have right now) first.

2)PvP is pretty much fighting others, but there's more than just Random and Team Arenas. Join a guild and you can take part in GvG (Guild vs Guild) or Alliance Battle, which you won't have access to without Factions
My advice: Unlock skills, runes, and weapon upgrades for PvP via the roleplaying campaign, then put together a PvP character using those unlocks.

3)Yes, but it's much further into the game. Once you have "Ascended" in the Crystal Desert, the easiest option (just been added a few weeks back) is to talk to the Profession Changer in the Great Temple of Balthazar, accessable vie the boat icon that appears on your Travel map when you reach Lion's Arch. Each prof costs a one-off fee of 500g but after that, you can change to that prof again for free on that character.

4)Guilds vary. Shop around, basically, and take note of the advertisements being sent to Local chat. Some are RP, PvP, Faction Farming (Factions thing...), casual, etc. If you see the ad of a guild you like, give them a shout.
Remember that a guild is not simply a tag on the end of your name and/or a cool cape... Ideally you should in some way contribute to that guild yourself.
And don't ask if you can be officer when you hit Level 20. That is a flawed criteria for promotion as there is much more to do beyond that level (Ascension, Armour infusion, the two 15 attribute point quests)

Let's keep within this thread? Three threads containing links to and from each other can't be good for the servers .
